Working Principle of High Voltage Cabinet and Low Voltage Cabinet

High and low voltage switchgear is the equipment that connects high voltage or low voltage cables. Generally, power supply bureaus and substations use high voltage cabinets, which are then lowered by transformers to low voltage cabinets. Low voltage cabinets are used in the distribution cabinets of each power supply. Inside, some protective devices such as switching circuit breakers are assembled into an integrated electrical equipment. High and low voltage switchgear is divided into low-voltage extraction switchgear, AC low-voltage distribution cabinet, metal armoured removable switchgear, low-voltage fixed partition switchgear, high-voltage capacitor cabinet and high-voltage switchgear.

High and low voltage switchgear is a kind of electrical equipment, the external line first enters the main control switch in the cabinet, then enters the sub-control switch, each branch circuit is set according to its needs. For example, instruments, automatic control, motor magnetic switches, various AC contactors, some also have high-voltage chamber and low-voltage chamber switchgear, high-voltage buses, such as power plants, and some also have low-cycle load shedding to protect the main equipment.

Low-voltage extractive switchgear is widely used in power distribution center PC and motor control center MCC of power plant, substation, factory, mining enterprise and high-rise building. As AC 50-60Hz, rated working voltage is 660V and below, rated current is 4000A and below, distribution and motor centralized control in power generation and power supply system, low-voltage complete distribution device used for reactive power compensation.

AC low-voltage distribution cabinet is suitable for power users, such as power plants, substations, factories and mining enterprises, whose AC 50Hz rated working voltage is 380V, rated working current is 3150A. It is used for power conversion, distribution and control of power, lighting and distribution equipment.

High voltage switchgear is composed of cabinet body and circuit breaker. The cabinet body is composed of shell, electrical components (including insulators), various mechanisms, secondary terminals and wiring.
